Unova is the largest single-generation roster in the series at 156 species, and the only one designed as a full reset — the original Black and White regional dex used no earlier Pokemon before the postgame. That makes Gen 5 the fairest test of pure design taste in the whole franchise, because nothing here is carried by nostalgia from an earlier game.
